On a more broad spectrum: if we would collectively, as a society, just choose to threw their shitty towels away and use the loungers if no one else does atm..then we wouldn’t have this problem.

    2. Does no else see the irony in a *German tourist* being the one who was both annoyed by this and sued about it?

I can’t help but wonder if he was only miffed because he missed out. Surely if he’s travelled before, he’s done the same many times. It’s mostly Germans who do this and introduced permanent ‘reserving’ behaviour, IME.

I think hotel staff should simply use a token or ‘pfand’ system for loungers, if it’s such a problem.

900€ for 2 year long legal battle? Fees for lawyers had to be much more than that….

Back in the day, when I was full of piss and vinegar, I’d often wake up at 6am just to gather up all the towels that people had already spread out and toss them in the pool.

But never more than once per holiday.

      Wut?

    6. But what actually happens if you just ignore the towel reservation and move the towel away and use a sun lounger? I don’t understand why other people respect the towel reservation system If the lounger is not actually being used??
