Anyone else noticing Belgian “boutiques” selling clothes from Temu/SHEIN/AliExpress for 2x-5x the price?
I found a Belgian webshop where a lot of the items seem to be identical to products on Temu, SHEIN or AliExpress, except massively marked up.
I know reselling itself isn’t illegal, but it feels misleading when these shops present themselves as “boutique”, “carefully curated”, or “small fashion brands” while it’s basically dropshipping fast-fashion items from China.
Am I overreacting or is this becoming super common in Belgium lately?
It looks like this actually works as a business model.
P.S. I actually stumbled on her website when I was double checking the sequin kimono from another website (wtf!!), I don’t know this person at all.

always have
Its always been this way. But now you can just buy the products directly from Temu/SHEIN instead of only if you’re a business needing supply.
So, regular dropshipping ? It’s been happening for years, I’ve never heard of pollinas are they a well established brick and mortar shop or is it just a shopify ?
I wouldn’t say all boutiques. But the one in the pictures you’re showing definetly is.
Drop shipping is increasing yes
You are familiar with the term “dropshipping”. So exactly what are you surprised about? If you want a more real ‘boutique’ experience, go to a real physical store. Dropshipping business model only works online.
it’s very possible, but it could also be the other way around (Temu stealing from the boutiques). I think the only way to know for sure would be to inspect the quality.
Are you sure they resell the Shein stuff? Or does Shein copy the newest fast-fasion items of the season?
But yeah, they could very much be dropshipping, it happens with plenty of products.
We handle business loans and yes, this is very common as far as business models are concerned. If at any point you see a really good deal and it can’t be delivered in one or two days this is probably the case.
Even on Temu and Shein the prices are inflated based on your location. If you have access to Alibaba there you’ll see that the actual cost is multitudes lower than on Temu and Shein.
Sure, that’s what they’ve been doing for years now.
2026 discovering drop shipping
It’s called dropshipping and it’s a plague. Thanks to the china packages tax that the EU is going to implement soon, you’ll even be punished with an extra tax if you buy it straight from temu/shein which will only create more incentive for dropshippers.
Though it has to be said that shein has often been accused of copying designs from other fashion brands or even people showing their designs on their social media. They face barely any repercussions because China makes it very difficult to take legal action and a lawsuit actually goes through, the cost is minimal for them compared to what they make by plagiarizing.
My wife is in to creating and selling things as a side gig, and she encountered someone who wanted to go and start making candles and sell those.
But the candle making was a disaster and that lady ended up buying candles in bulk via Temu and alibaba and then selling those here as “homemade” and that was apparently a succes
That is not a new thing – and not only clothes either: try to find any small-scale devices that are not just bought off Alibaba and then resold with a high markup here… often just with an extra sticker for a “local” branding.
NSFW ? Are we becoming Americans or Talibans?
No, no, these products are made in Belgium ! To protect these Belgian businesses, the government wants to increase import duty on Chinese imports so no individual can buy directly in China anymore. These Belgian businesses are doing this to protect us from unsafe and fake products (thank you so much 😭😭😭). So please buy the stuff in the “boutiques” for 10x the Chinese price ! I promise you these are safer, better quality and 100% made in Belgium.

🙄
All around the globe ppl doing this
Everybody is jumping to dropshipping BUT envoyé spécial (a France2 show) has proved in a documentary that Shein is able to scout small designers or shop (as is the case above) and reproduce for much less the same clothes. In the doc you see some french small designers who complains that their product appears on Shein just a few days after uploading it on the small shop website.
Dropshipping. Or you found the original creator from which the design has been stolen (unlikely but possible).
Also what is this picture for the sequin kimono on Aliexpress
That “Belgian webshop” is not real, it’s a dropshipping scam.
Those are very common worldwide.
It’s always been like that, the difference is that consumers now also have access to those same sources, so it gets noticed.
You have the big factories that might offer a catalogue of designs or materials, ’boutique’ brands can assemble a collection by ordering from those. They just pay the factory for the clothes and get their label added. Maybe have a few designs custom made just for them, but that’s more expensive (and more work) of course.
Yes in black. Same as with all the new hypes the kiddos go through
Most clothes shop where the owners are Arabic, Indian, etc do this. I have seen a bunch of them in Brussels and Bergen selling them for 3,4 or even 5 times the prices. Since I’m somewhat tall and jacked, I can’t even try on their clothes on XL/XXL, those brand are often way too small so it’s easy for me to tell lol
There was even an owner that told me his sister was cutting the label from the clothes they bought and put their own label on it afterward. You can also add to this, all the fake known brand sold in those shops like Nike, Adidas, lacoste, etc
