    1. There is a difference between “renovate this building” and “do something with a ruin”.

      Literally the most prosperous country regarding architectural restoration and you pick this example.

      Or at least sometimes I feel every third post in r/architecturalrevival is from poland.

    3. Not all old buildings are valuable and renovating them costs a lot. Maintaining too because they’re usually not energy efficient. And on top of that, they’re often times in hands of private owners. Many private owners will renovate them if they see a profit, if they don’t then it will just stay like that or randomly catch a fire so that land can be sold to an investor who doesn’t have to put up with a ruin.

      Some of buildings are a “monument” chosen randomly on a walk by local conservator. If I don’t see any bullets signs like in Sarajevo/Belgrade buildings, then for me is not a monument. So rather rebuild from 0 a ruin than “cover it” some paint.
