Hope their condition will stabilise and let them survive.
The fact that the WHO is flagging a single case as ‘very critical’ shows how much more vigilant global health monitoring has become post-2020.

The Hanta virus in this day and age. And in a developed country too. Who woulda thunk.
In some publications like here, the third case is missing and little to nothing is known… weird.
Argentina and China, though different strains of the disease, have the highest incidence of hantavirus. Many thousands annually. I’m surprised this is the first many are hearing about it.
In an awful possible way the probably only positive point here is the lethality of this appears to substantially exceed the transmission of this thing or otherwise we’d all be in a lot more trouble (yes I know there will be a wait until it gets Air2 joke).
