      The greatest irony is that Republican senator Rick Scott was convicted of the largest Medicare fraud in history. Now he gets a nice salary while poor people in CA will go without care.

      99 percent of the time “anti fraud task force” just means “we are looking for an excuse to cut spending.” it is wild that they can just announce this on a Wednesday afternoon and mess with a whole state’s budget. the warning to the other 49 states is the real kicker though… basically saying “do what we want or you are next.” definitely gonna be keeping an eye on how the states fight back.

      meanwhile Florida has a senator that literally conducted like $1.8 billion in medicare fraud with his company, faced no charges, took $300 million in severance and stock options right after federal agents raided his company’s offices and used that money to launch his political career. Who says crime doesn’t pay?

      These people are such clowns. They can’t even point to real numbers for anything they insist is happening but then elect people who actually do that shit on steroids….like I said elsewhere they muddy the waters by accusing everybody of everything so that the population gets numb to hearing about that topic and just assumes it is always that one side accuses the other of it and that way when they actually do it and get accused of it nobody will really even care because they are numb to the topic and assume it is just partisan bickering.

      I live in Usha Vance’s parents’ neighborhood. JD Vance has my street blocked off CONSTANTLY because he loves visiting California so much. We should all step up our (already substantial) efforts to boo him out of every place within CA he dares to show his face.

      So many blue states pay more back than what they get from the government. I’d bet Cali + NYC are like 30% of that money. So that’s cute. Also it’s not like it’s unemployment or something, it’s Medicaid. Meaning people ARE going to die. And I’m of the ilk that if I make a decision that leads directly to death, whether it’s one person or a million, I’d be a murderer.       California – one of the biggest economies in the world. A state that pays the most federal taxes when looking at the total money given ($805.6 billion). Second highest is Texas which gives roughly half of that.

      It is also a donor state; meaning it gives more than it gets back. Roughly $275 billion given more than it receives. New York is the second highest with $76 billion.

      So why the fuck don’t we have money to help people that are getting fucked over by either the company they work for. (Meaning low wages). Or insurance companies not covering shit properly or being too expensive.

      Not only do they want California to investigate fraud more aggressively than they already do through their Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU). The administration wants them to investigate all prescriptions issued to Medicaid recipients.

      Regarding what CA does now, In 2021-2023 CA had 180 fraud indictments, 221 convictions, & 65 civil judgements and settlements totaling $544M
