Doruk Mining workers, who sought their rights by walking from Eskişehir to Ankara and hunger strike, were this time faced with the decision to take unpaid leave after their salaries were paid. It was claimed that a total of 170 employees, including 113 workers who participated in the protest, were put on leave, while it was claimed that the workers were pressured to “resign”.

The workers who marched from Eskişehir to Ankara and went on hunger strike because they could not receive their salaries were paid a total of 180 million lira.

However, it was claimed that the company management was preparing to part ways with the workers who participated in the protest.

It was claimed that company owner Sebahattin Yıldız, following the meetings in Ankara, put a total of 170 workers working underground, along with 113 activist workers, on unpaid leave and asked the workers to resign.

He allegedly said to the workers, “I will not work with those who go out to protest and curse me in the squares. I will not continue with you. Resign yourself, I will pay your compensation.”

While it was stated that an agreement was reached with the workers at the meeting in Ankara, where representatives of the Ministries of Labor, Labor and Social Security, and Ministries of Energy and Natural Resources were present, no statement was made by the ministries after the latest developments.
