The same parties and stakeholders will now try to gain a majority in order to privatize the city’s golden geese: Orkuveituna, Ljósleiðarinn, Carbfix and the parking garages. Not to mention that these parties want to hollow out the social system from the inside and sell all the social housing apartments.
A little recap. Björn Ingi Hrafnsson, who is now one of the main ideologues of the Central Party in the city, was the leader of the Progressive Party before the collapse. He was the main instigator of trying to merge Orkuveitunn’s branch company, REI, with the private company Geysi Green Energy and put it in the hands of a select few. History seems set to repeat itself, except now with a new party in a new guise.
This is about national security, energy security and the interests of all of us. Common values should not end up in the hands of a few.

Umtalaða kjörtímabil var samfylkingin í meirihluta. Það var þá eftir allt Samfylkingin sem setti Landsvirkjun í söluferli.
