Metropolitan Job (Akiashvili), one of the three candidates for the position of the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia in 2026, often knew how to attract attention with noisy statements. He made one of the last such statements regarding the king very recently, on April 10, 2026.
In his sermon he said:
“Our future is clear. We will have a blessed king – a king who will do great things for the future of Georgia.
Do not think that in this chaotic world we have forgotten our royal dynasty, the House of Bagration. In our memory, he always was, is and will be… The king will be a balancer in the nation, a bringer of peace and a symbol of unity. When this event takes place, we will be present, and our nation will rejoice.”
