Bought today at the thrift store. I think they’re beautiful. The one on the left (Toreken, Vrijdagmarkt) is not visibly dated, but is signed. I don’t know whether this signature is original or how old it is. This signature is clearly made in pencil. Unfortunately the glass is no longer in the frame.
I cannot find a title for the judge. Presumably ‘Eagle with nest’. This one is still in the frame with glass, with a date of 1951 on the design.
The frames also seem on the older side, to what extent could they potentially be original? Everything is held in place by small nails, with distressed tape on the back. I don’t want to open it at the back because the frames could possibly be quite old as well. I would like to protect the ‘Toreken’ again with a new frame/glass, but would like to know more about these works of art (plus any frames) and possible age.

Could anyone possibly give me more information? I am especially curious about the historical background and originality of the works, I would really like to hang them in our house when we move next summer 😃

Het is zeker geen ets. De lijnen zijn niet gesneden en er is geen afdruk van de plaat te zien in het papier. Het zijn pentekeningen. Op de foto’s kan ik niet direct zien of het originele pentekeningen zijn (zo lijkt het wel) of reproducties. Dat moet je met het blote oog of met een vergrootglas wel kunnen zien: dan zie je er een fijn rooster (moiré) in.
Het ziet er uit als een soorts print. De randen van de tekening zijn te recht voor een penteking. En de lucht is te clean voor een ets.
