I dont follow tesla that often are they doing anything new?
I know they are doing some cloud distributed computing thing with the cars where they will use Teslas as part of their cloud data centers. Which is something i wont like as a consumer or owner of a tesla.

Tesla gets bad press all the time for poor customer service and having a low build quality. I doubt it’s even legal to give BYD bad press in China.

Reminds me of when the American Motor Vehicle Industry (based largely in Detroit) started to decline with the rise of Japanese and European manufacturers in the 70s.

BYD was at CES 2 years ago and I finally got a chance to test drive a few of their models. They were solidly-build, feature-packed – including a few features, like reversible drive/passenger seats in their “picnic” model, that weren’t even on the drawing board at Tesla – and luxurious. Most importantly, the pricing was unbeatable – with their lowest model (the ATTO 2 SUV) starting at $28k.
The only reason why Tesla even still has a market is because BYD isn’t sold in the US.

I bet they soundly be happier. Marketing working as planned

BYD is heavily subsidized by the CCP and built by low-paid workers. It’s the Walmart business model to capture the market by drowning out the the competition this way.

Might have something to do with Tesla being garbage and run by a Nazi.
Just a guess.

The Chinese industry is pushing out great cars and their battery technology is leaving the US behind. This was an inevitability.
The Chinese have pride in their own technological prowess just like other people do and the trade policies of the US are only further exacerbating the risks of buying US made vehicles.
Vehicles that are cheaper, equal or better than competition, domestically made, and less risky are going to have traction, and it’s not going to stop at their borders.
