The UK has no concept of a legal name, so this is meaningless. Just spell it correctly on any documents and it’ll be fine.

Magrat Garlick and her daughter Princess Esmerelda Margaret Note Spelling come to mind here.

Had to pay VAT on her as well as she was served warm.
This is on the parents if the birth cert. is like the English* process. You double check it in the office.

We had some friends who named their daughter ‘Bridie’.
Lovely name right? [A ‘bridie’ is basically a ‘pasty’ here in Scotland](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridie)….
…we just kept quiet.

Sounds like a sponsorship deal with Gregg’s is in her future.

My birth certificate has the wrong year on it, says i’m a year older than I actually am. I had a bit of a panic upon finding out thinking I was actually older than I thought I was. It had made absolutely no difference to my life. I don’t think anybody actually bothers to look at them.

I nearly fell out of my chair laughing when I read this article yesterday. I was trying to read it aloud to my partner but I couldn’t because was wheezing too hard. I’m pretty sure some Germans disapproved of me.
A+ reporting.

My grans name was ‘Moira’ and when she died they carved ‘Moria’ on her headstone, now every time I go up to the grave for a visit I can’t help but have a wee chuckle and think about lord of the rings.

I’m not sure if this is true but I can’t see why they would lie but my Nan who was always known as Joyce was apparently named George on her birth certificate and named as a male. Apparently her father registered the birth ( would have been 1920s or 30s, not sure on that) and he was pissed at the time. I hope it’s true in a way but maybe just a funny story, I don’t know.
