    1. The UK often follow the US culturally, and the US is completely obsessed with UFOs. It’s telling that Germany, way denser than England, has way fewer reports.

      Cultural hysteria is a bitch.

    2. World-wide, UFO reports are concentrated in English-speaking countries. That’s obviously because it’s a cultural phenomenon. When most people can’t quite see something, they conclude that they don’t know what it is because they can’t quite see it. When someone who grew up watching Close Encounters, Twilight Zone, X-Files, etc., all the time can’t quite see something, they conclude it’s aliens.

Eastern Europeans see UFOs too. They just can’t be bothered to report them.

Confirmation bias I assume? The bigger the UFO culture, the more greyman saucers spotted

Fuck knows why aliens want to abduct the Bonnybridge bampots with such regularity, but they keep doing it.

This is an American site that collects ufo reports, of course English speakers are more likely to report sightings there.

If you took the data from a French website, the sightings would be concentrated to France, Switzerland and Belgium.

    8. Sweden and or the (ERC) European research council has grants active and issueing new ones to the benefit of more studies into UAP/UFO.

Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) have fascinated humanity for centuries, ranging from mysterious lights in the sky to sensor data and close encounters that defy conventional explanation. Such events challenge our understanding of nature, technology, and even our place in the universe.

    9. No. Reports are hardly relevant, just like studies that focus on surveys/hearsay. People lie, and that’s the bottom line.

    10. I don’t believe it was aliens, but there was something flying in the sky that scared the fuck out of me. Western Norway

There was a case in Britain where all the services were on their toes because an alien from outer space was running around. And it turned out to be a wild boar. So maybe there are more reports like this?

I bet it’s people seeing old police boxes, thinking it’s the doctor…

    13. The distribution suggests a cultural reason, as opposed to an actual reason, i.e., that UFO’s are not real. Otherwise, why would they have travelled such huge distances to only visit the UK, and the US?

I’m sure this aligns well with the density of people proficient in English.

You know, I’m the one responsible for those crop circles in England.

Aren’t UK/US UFO sightings very closely correlated with the screening of alien radio/TV shows? I seem to remember in the UK it’s very closely correlated with broadcasts of The War of the Worlds?

The UK was the most important and most technologically advanced country on Earth for centuries before the USA surpassed it. It’d be no surprise that aliens would be more interested in the Anglo world.
