They want you to have the freedom to do and think exactly what they tell you to. We are living the phrase: War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength

Freedom and Democracy are like the nice guy in a relationship who get dumbed because he/she is too boring.

If Trump’s presidency has taught me anything, it’s that people will sacrifice their rights and liberties just to make others suffer.

Democracy requires a well educated population to function, and the US is a country full of people that are profoundly proud of their own ignorance.

You know how racists in towns all over the south chose to close their public pools rather than integrate them? Yeah, these people are doing the same thing, but with our entire civilization

I don’t like it, but it’s hard to focus on the longevity of our democracy when I can’t afford gas and rent.

That isn’t humor, it’s factual.

Trump has taught me that republican voters will tolerate absolutely anything and justify it, as long as it’s a republican doing it to them. Republicans have taught their voters that their lives have no value and they deserve nothing for the work they do and those voters celebrate that! That republican voters fear being treated like humans because that might be “socialism”!

This was part of the long-con in getting rid of civics education in schools– nobody knows what, in theory, the US was supposed to have stood for and what made the US different than a monarchy. The constitution isn’t just a piece of paper that says FREEDOM on it, it was to put the law above any particular person who held any particular office. It laid out how that was supposed to work. But now, too many people just think of “AMERICA” as geographic boundaries like stupid dogs who just bark at anything they think is getting too close to those boundaries and that’s what “freedom” is. It’s just a team, it’s just a physical space, and there’s no concept of what was supposed to have made it worth defending or standing up for.
*Please note my heavy use of qualifiers– the US has (almost?) never been as good as the ideals it was supposed to have at its core, but at least we could use the tools and legal structures to try to bend its course toward those ideals.
