Note: While I knoa that Caucasian Albania, Atropatena, Caliphate Azerbaijan and Shirvanshahs weren’t Turkic, I still included them because of the importance they had on the history of Azerbaijan (and due to the fact most Azerbaijanis are genetically descendants of those state’s peoples)

Azərbaycanda öyrədilən tarixin problemi odur ki, xalqımızın tarixini yox, torpağımızın tarixini öyrədirlər. Bu postda problem yoxdur, sadəcə olaraq yadıma düşdü. Demirlər “11-ci əsrdə oğuzlar köç etdilər, fəth etdilər, qarışdılar” və s. Deyirlər “bu torpaqda eramızdan əvvəl bunlar yaşayıb, sonra bunlar, sonra bunlar, biz isə bunların qarışığıyıq”. Böyük və şanlı tariximizi kiçik, səhv və minimallaşdırılmış şəkildə tədris edirlər.
