And why would this ever happen? I’m not saying this wouldn’t be disastrous IF it happened, but the same can be said for a star-sized meteor making the sun explode tomorrow. We have zero reason to believe Trump would ever be willing to enter, or even more importantly, *honor* any such deal.
He talks nicely about literally ANY world leader he last talked to, that has never meant anything. Trump needs China as an antagonist to role-play a strong man narrative to his followers. Even if he DOES make a deal, he has broken and ignored every single one he made with other countries, he’s gonna do the same with China as well.
That isn’t to say Japan’s reliance on the US isn’t becoming a problem, but this particular worry is thoroughly unfounded.
I want to feel for Japan right now but when you guys went further right than you already were and got lil trump the prime minister your fate was sealed.
