      So I work in biomedical research, specifically cancer.

      There is something that people miss when discussing hidden “cures for cancer”

      Is it the inherit complexity of cancer? The fact that cancer isn’t one disease but many? The economic incongruence of hiding a cure?

      No. It’s the ego of scientists.

      You have no idea how large they can be. I work with a dozen people who would gladly be assassinated by Eli Lily if it meant going down in history as the greatest scientist alive… for a minute…

      Lol, gouverment cant even repair a street properly; or hide corruption properly … but when its about a companies money instead of other companies and the presidents money – they suddenly become competent and can keep a secret

      There is no motive to hide it. They will charge people a shit ton of money for future cures. Even more for very rare diseases so they can get rich from it

      The better your government is and the higher the quality of life in your country the less likely you are to distrust your government and adopt conspiracy theories. Broken governments and broken countries generate citizens looking for answers as to why their lives suck and some will adopt good answers and some crazy ones.

      “Cure to cancer”.

      Is like saying “cure to virus”.

      Cancer comes in an infinite variety, to which many of them are curable today.

      What people dont realize is cancer isnt one disease that can have one universal cure, each cancer is very very different at the molecular level and each cancer would need its own treatment (think over 30 treatments for 30 different cancers). Some cancers already have very effective treatments and essentially are cured (like CML, a type of blood cancer, where they found the exact molecular target and made it fully treatable).

      This has always been a stupid one.

      The most important thing for governments is to have working citizens. The entire framework of the country and the economy is based on this.

      One of the most expensive things for governments is the cost of cancer in health budgets.

      There is simply no logical reason why governments would hide a cure for cancer. Governments around the world lose trillions a year to cancer, because of losing productive workers permanently, because of healthcare costs, because of time off work for treatment etc.

      And governments actually spend tens to hundreds of billions a year on research to try combat cancer. Why would they do that and then hide the cure? That’s dead money, yeah it supports some researcher jobs and supports some pharmaceutical companies. But most of the money is wasted and disappears.

      Add on to this the final checkmate. Everybody dies from cancer, at all levels. Why would the elites hide a cure when they are literally dying from it as much as the rest of humanity? Billionaires literally get cancer and die. Some of them have to see their parents die from it. Their children.

      It’s just the worst kind of conspiracy to think the cure is being hidden because……why would it? What possible gain would they get…? Pharmaceutical companies don’t make near enough money to justify such a massive secret from selling treatments lol.

      Even the ultra rich people are dying from cancer. Like that OF CEO who died recently. He was only 41 I believe. This guy could afford EVERYTHING and there was still no cure for him.

      Cancer can be cured in some cases already but some are just extremely deadly and spread very quickly in the body. The only cool method I recently heard of was sequencing the cancers genome(?) and then making antibodies against it or something. Not a medical student so not my field but still interesting.

      Anybody that has actually worked for a government knows that all government conspiracy theories are stupid. Politicians are the worst at keeping secrets. If a government made a cure for cancer it would immediately be in the next campaign ad.

      I am not really in the hiding cancer cure camp but I am strongly believing that the pharma industry is hiding or at least massively hindering the development of cures to some common chronic diseases. Being a customer for 10+ years > curing stuff in one year.

      My sister’s best childhood friend was a leading cancer doctor…who died of cancer in middle age. If even cancer doctors die early of cancer, you better understand that there’s no coverup for the cure.

      In the US there is a group that believes Dicyanin is banned because it allows someone to see into another dimension. Most of them would believe the government was hiding a cure for cancer

      This is fine , the only reason polio is still active in pakistan, afganistan and nigeria is because many muslims believe that it’s government conspiracy to make them infertile 

      In Pakistan, polio workers have to travel with armed police officer and many families hide their kids . Many of them have lost their lives because of this absurd conspiracy theory

      Well, it really depends what you mean.

      Like we know that live donation of part of your liver is a medical possibility. But here in Ireland, when my father was dying of tumours on his liver and trying to get on the transplant list and we enquired about me donating part of mine, we were told “we can’t do that here”. End of discussion. And I’m sure people have been told the same about other procedures and treatments.

      So are they hiding potential treatments, no, they just aren’t able to provide them because our health system is always in such a state. People have had to take the government to the high court over this, for the HSE to send them abroad. But that takes time a lot of people don’t really have when they’re actively dying.

      To be fair I didn’t believe that the world was run by a cabal of elite pedophiles and it turned out to be true, so now I don’t know what to believe.
