I’m pretty sure they didn’t scrape every bit of gum from the wall before painting however.

I don’t remember this wall. Must have been after I’d lived in the area.
I do remember a lady who dressed like Marilyn Monroe, though. Dian O’Connell?? She’d often be seen shopping with her mum. Some people would make fun and be rude, but, if memory serves, from an article I’d read, she and her sister liked to dress up as movie stars occasionally and when her sister died, dressing like Marilyn Monroe was a way to honour her sister.
I believe she moved to Queensland. I loved seeing her around Camberwell.
