“Marilyn Gladu was planning to leave politics when she says a conversation with Artificial Intelligence Minister Evan Solomon changed her mind.”
The opening sentence of the article. I misread it at first and thought she changed her mind after talking to an AI.
>“I mean he can say ‘she has to look in the eyes of her constituents.’ Well, what about the constituents of Battle River—Crowfoot that elected Damien Kurek, and weeks later all of a sudden he gives up his seat,” Gladu said, referring to how Kurek stepped aside to allow Poilievre to run in a byelection after losing his seat in last election.
I’m glad she brought this up, given how the other floor crossings were most likely the result of a cold political calculus about what would work best for them and/or the riding whereas the resignation in BR-C was almost certainly the result of a bribe.
