    1. Carp don’t have big triangular fins that stick straight out from their sides. Looks like a bull shark to me. They can get up to Ipswich, so a fair way up the rivers.

Definitely a shark, looks small though. Hard to tell from the photo. Other shark species can go up a river, bull is most common.

It does look like a shark – not sure if this is specifically a *bull* shark, though. There are other, smaller shark species in the Brisbane River.

Worked at an abattoir in ipswich 30+ years ago . Had bullsharks in the bremer river back then.

That’s a catfish. I do a lot of fishing, catfish look a lot like sharks until you get them out of the water.

It is very likely a type of shark, that tail end looks way to much like it belongs to one.

They are known to come into the river, so its very possible.

The shape of and black on the caudal (tail) fin makes it look a lot like a bullshark.

I’m gonna call it as a Catfish, but I also expect bull sharks to be in any waterway connected to the ocean… however in this case, nice catty

Bull sharks are nasty little bastards , put your leg in and see if it bites. You’ll know then

Fish nerd and biologist here, It’s a juvenile Bull shark, not a catfish lol. They’ve been sighted plenty of times in Kedron brook recently likely a frequent visitor over the causeway at high tide

Juvenile Bull Shark – often spotted in various rivers/creeks in Brisbane, not the first time they’ve been spotted in the Kedron Brook. They can survive in both salt and fresh water.

Juvenile Bull Sharks often get misidentified for Black Tip Reef Sharks somehow… (somehow being the key word…)
