      What were the results from the chicken products they tested from Tesco, Sainsbury, ASDA, Morrisons, etc.

      And if they didn’t test chicken products from Tesco, Sainsbury, ASDA, Morrisons, etc. then why not.

      Have the chickens been eating that lettuce?

      I’m only going to eat chocolate hobnobs now to be safe.

    3. This is unrelated to the current outbreak, it’s old news.

      Finding some strain of ecoli on raw meat is expected. Some studies put it at over 90% prevalance in chicken, most hover around the 50% mark. This is why you cook meat (When you look specifically for shiga toxin producing ecoli which are more important when it comes to public health those numbers drop to a few percent).

      The more notable finding is the high prevalance of multi antibiotic resistant bacteria – but this has been a well-known growing issue for years thanks to the misuse of antibiotics in agriculture.

      E-coli is expected to be present in raw meat.

      I work in a supermarket and we have had our sandwiches constantly recalled last few weeks.

      This definitely looks like defamation as details are coming out that the findings were produced by an animal charity that had a dispute with Lidl 

    6. There can be no excuse to condone poor animal welfare or the cutting of corners when comes to food offered for sale by our supermarkets. They have been the principal beneficiaries of the rampant food price inflation we’ve been subjected to. Their profits post pandemic speak volumes.
