The ones making about $40k are the most adamantly against it. Raising the minimum wage to $15 / hr puts burger flippers at about $32k a year…..it disgusts those people making $40k a year that a burger flipper could possibly make close to what they make.
They don’t understand that a rising tide lifts all ships.

Might be more like “people barely making minimum wage do not want people making less than them getting a raise”.
The propaganda is effective, especially on those without education/critical thinking skills.
Watching people cheer for their own economic chains is like a twisted version of Survivor, but everyone forgets they want to get voted off the island!
You’re ignoring the concern that raising the minimum wage will make all the cheap shit they’re buying more expensive. It’s reasonable to be worried about that.
