I’m trying to install some curtain rods and I keep hitting some metal. I used a Bosch truvo to find metal but it keeps beeping all over the place. The building itself is a Neubau and on the opposite side of the wall is the exterior of the building. I drilled a couple of holes but now I’m honestly done. It keeps going in about 20mm before hitting metal. I’m using a 6mm drill bit with hammer mode. I suspect it’s the shutter but honestly where am I supposed to drill. If I go higher my curtains will just hang in the air. Aaah somebody please help

You have to go much higher or hang them from the ceiling. Curtains at every imaginable length exist.
You’re probably right about it being the blinds box/mechanism. I would get longer curtains if I were you, it will look better even if it’s an additional cost.
20mm depth seems more than enough, especially since I assume we are talking about rather light curtains. Since it’s a new building, the plaster is unlikely to be more than 10mm.
6mm dowels mean 4-4.5mm screws. That’s enough to hold a a shelf. Just get shorter screws, mate.
Had this exact same problem over a year ago when I wanted to install ceiling lights. No one had an answer. Hopefully someone has an answer for you.
