not being able to blatantly manipulate currencies could really threaten their banks and monetary policies….
maybe governments that can’t handle money should go bankrupt. maybe that’s what capitalism demands, even if the failing billionaires don’t want to be poor, without that threat they have no reason to do a good job.

There are many people in Europe who will support 100% ECB contrary to the private banks, you will observe it on other Reddit subs. They are driven by frustration of dependency of payments and financial services in Europe on US Tech.
It is a bit patriotism against common sense at the moment.
