    1. Excerpts from article by ABC’s Kristian Silva:

*[…] Freeman had been the subject of Victoria’s biggest manhunt when he was killed in a police shootout, seven months after he shot dead officers Neal Thompson and Vadim de Waart-Hottart, and injured another.*

*Details of Freeman’s final moments on the morning of March 30, 2026 were outlined in the Coroners Court during a directions hearing on Monday.*

*[…] None of the officers who shot Freeman were fitted with body-worn cameras, the court heard, however footage from the police helicopter captured the final shootout.*

*Freeman turned on his phone’s voice memos 23 minutes prior to being shot dead.*

*”That audio recording captures audio from inside the shipping container, including the deceased talking, some of the negotiations throughout that time period, audio of the discharge of firearms, and then SOG operatives clearing the shipping container,” Mr Spence [counsel assisting] said.*

*The coroner is holding separate inquests looking at the deaths of the officers at Porepunkah in 2025, and the final shootout involving Freeman in March.*

*In the Freeman case, police are expected to provide a brief of evidence to the coroner by October ahead of a formal inquest, possibly next year. […]*

Awe so this could be a Ned Kelly situation. No witnesses or proof of the coppers version then they hunt him down and shoot him.

I will say as a caveat I am in no way defending this person.

However the way this was handled is only going to spur on conspiracy sovcits. Like surely there needs to be a look into how this was all handled from the get go.

I fear this is far from over in terms of response. If you want the public to see him for the fuckwit he was then show that.

He’s the anti Ned Kelly, now Ned wasn’t perfect but this guy is a f-wit. Don’t rest in peace dik head,

    5. Why are cams the only form of proof the public now need as evidence – and assume something is being hidden if cans are not used under such circumstances, courts have been working generally well without video evidence for a long time – it’s not a requirement in the validation of facts or the presentation of evidence.

SovCits annoy me but police assassinations are real. This is the force teaching us what happens if someone goes after their own.

They knew exactly where he was. He was pinned down. He could have been gassed out or starved out but killing him was the point.

It’s called realpolitik – the difference between how we want society to work and how it really works.

TL;DR The cameras weren’t off by accident.

    7. i think you burried the lead here

The description of the search warrant and related charges are the big deal here

Own goal from Victoria Police. They crossed into vigilantism with this decision.

    9. I think there is a whole number of zero people surprised by the police going full vigilante and decided that the sentence was death.

He was not a good person but this absolutely should not be allowed to happen – never mind the total lack of consequences that will follow…

He was turned into a piece of Swiss cheese by Vic Police’s Special Operations Group, they never have and never will wear body cameras.

    11. This shouldn’t be surprising to anybody.

I’m not defending him and I don’t care how he died but after hearing how he taunted and killed those cops, they would have thrown due process out the door and lit him up.

He was put down like a dog because he was. the guy was a child molesting menace.

I say good riddance. the less of these people the better.

Dezi boiiiiii king of the sovcits., Lord of the lifetime of Centrelink benefits and child SA material. What a jet

      /s, incase

    14. SOG have never worn body cams because having a giant blinking red light on your chest in a high risk siege situation isn’t exactly a smart idea. Neither is recording tactics and communications to be disclosed in a court room down the line

Isn’t it amazing how police cameras ALWAYS malfunction when they shoot someone?

Has it been explained yet how they eventually managed to find him? All these articles explaining where he was and what happened, but not a single one explaining how he was found
