The temperature spread across the UK is absurd. 34.8C recorded in London, yet parts of northern Scotland haven’t even got into the teen’s.

Tomorrow is due to be even hotter for a lot of England and it could well hit 36C.

    2. Never would have thought my home in the north of Iraq would be cooler than here.

      Thats quite alarming

    3. Note that these are not measurement but models. Probably NOAA’s NCEP or ECMWF’s IFS.

Currently 32° in Brest. Historical, the highest temperature in may was 29.5°. Tomorrow is supposed to be slightly worse.

And againt this year, the perfect isolation that prevent from having to heat in the winter make my appartement an oven.

    4. Idk maybe I’m weird but I’m loving the +16 and sunny in Helsinki. Those 25-30 weathers feel like hell.

Well, here comes the most fuckass infernal period of the year. Every year I’m closer to just shipping myself to Antarctica and just staying there until like August.

Went for a run, +15 is ok, but the winds are brutal at coast of Estonia for 3 days already.

    7. After 5 years i finally decided to stop torturing myself every summer and got AC installed. It was one of my better decisions lately

    8. And it’s not even June, July and August yet. I will never forgive the reckless, selfish billionaires and their worthless boomer bootlickers who brought this climate catastrophe over us, single-handedly. I hope we as a society make them pay the price someday soon.

    9. Worse and worse every year… there was no spring this year, and we’re already into summer in May… but let’s keep voting for this pro-oil, pro-gas, anti-environment far-right parties because iMmIgRaNtS sCaRy

I’m dying. I live in Brittany (Northwestern peninsula in France) and we are in canicule alerte. It’s 33°C but it feels like 38°C. The sun is blazing and the heat is humid. A heatwave in May in the north-west of France is truly exceptional : we are not in Andalusia

    11. Switzerland here… we had 32°C where i live.
Even when i was able to keep my apartment at 26°C…. i am sweating as f…
Wind would be nice… or rain…

It’s crazy to think that when I was a kid this kind of weather happened twice maybe 3times during the whole summer. I remember how happy everyone was, when the weather reached 25°C..

Now it’s May, it’s unbearable 😔 so much had changed in the 20 some years.

At least the poor lads fighting in Ukraine missed the 30c heat this time. Fighting a war in this heat is fucked.

Honestly happy to live in Scandinavia right now. I am not made for temperatures over 25 degrees. I just stop functioning.

Felt like i was gonna die in Sweden today because of the heat. 21c is TOO HOT lol

    16. Currently 32°c in my part of the UK, I’m not going to be able to walk my dogs until about 11pm at the earliest and tomorrow by 7:30am it looks like, it will already be to hot. Also, anyone who takes long term meds, double check if they affect heat sensitivity, I learned 3 of mine (mental health meds) can make me more heat sensitive the hard way via heat stroke

    17. That heat dome fucking sucks.

Such a heat dome in late July would mean temperatures around 45°C where I live (SW France).

      It’s insane.

Last week it was 6 in the country side and we had scarf and wet jackets. This week we put our feet in a bucket of water in an attempt to cool off at it was 36.

It’s not just the heat, it’s the sudden change.

it being hotter in the UK than in north africa is just insanity
