I saw this news and decided to watch the show before I would post here so that I could express myself better on this particular issue.
I think those who are "jumping angry" over this episode are deeply immersed in the personality cult of a man who had, to put it mildly, a controversial career.
It is rightly mentioned when DO and Halldór Ásgrímsson signed a declaration of intent to participate in a war against Iraq, without submitting it to the Foreign Affairs Committee of Alþingi or Alþingi.
Then nowhere in this episode is there any mention of the disgusting service that DO showed towards the Chinese Communist Party and its leaders when the human rights of the members of Falun Gong were ignored, when it was short for the president to come to the country, people of Asian origin were prevented from coming to Iceland, those who did come and were suspected of being members of Falun Gong were arrested.
If you search online for the name DO and "economic collapse 2008" there are various articles from foreign media that go into detail about how his contribution added to the mess, often he is in the top 100 or top 25 of those who had the most to say that the collapse happened.
Nor is it mentioned how fond this man was of using derogatory terms about other races while he was editor of the morning newspaper.
Maybe he was otherwise a nice guy to live near and socialize with, but his influence on Icelandic society has caused more harm than good.
You can go on and on about what a bad influence this person had, but I think I’ll leave it at that.

Ekki gleyma Rússaláninu 2008.
Þeir tala þarna um að RÚV sýni fram á hlutdrægni gegn Davíð. En það að RÚV hafi yfirhöfuð látið framleiða þennan þátt sýnir fram á hið gagnstæða. Hvers vegna er hann yfirhöfuð að fá minningarþátt um sig? Fengu Halldór Ásgrímsson, Steingrímur Hermannsson eða Benedikt Gröndal (síðustu þrír forsætisráðherrar sem hafa dáið á undan) svona þætti?
P.S. Öllum landsmönnum er drullusama um skoðanir Hannesar Hólmsteins. Ég hugsa að meira að segja vinum hans sé skítsama hvað honum finnst, því þeir geta reiknað út hugsanir hans áður en hann gerir það sjálfur.

Mjög furðulegur punktur, eins það hversu mikið álit a einhverjum sjallar hafa hafi einhverja vigt þegar kemur að því hver megi taka þátt í umræðu um Davíð.
Eg er að byrja a þessum þætti… eg er að einhverju leiti sammala að hann hefði þurft að vera lengri.
Er þetta hægriskoffín ekki alltaf að kvarta undan “viðkvæmu snjókornunum”? 🤪
