    1. “Because of course he does. He’s MAGA, so missing don’t mean he ain’t grifting.”

“NOTUS reported on Tuesday that Kean submitted an electronic signature on Friday disclosing that he’d traded stocks personally in April—a move that would raise questions about insider trading even if anyone knew where he was. This is the second time Kean disclosed his trades even as he’s missed a whopping 90 House votes.”

“Aside from the stock trading, Kean has also continued to send out newsletters, signed off on travel expenses to Las Vegas for staff, and himself used Amtrak and rideshare apps in San Francisco—far away from his home district, and well into his mysterious absence. Kean’s condition may very well be serious. But if he’s going to be sending newsletters, catching Ubers, and trading stocks, he’ll need a more detailed explanation for his sabbatical.”

“Call me old-fashioned, but I think it should be a bigger story that a sitting Republican member of Congress is missing, nobody knows where he is, yet he’s somehow still insider trading,” political commentator Mike Nellis wrote on Tuesday.”

“Nearly five weeks ago, Kean told the public he was absent due to a “personal health matter,” and would return shortly. He did not elaborate on the health matter.”

“You couldn’t make up a better avatar of the 119th Congress than a Congressman who misses all floor votes but still trades stocks,” political scientist Alex Garlick said.”

    2. What a *stunningly accurate* representation of a stereotypical Republican politician he is. Politicians should *not* be more focused on *making money* than on making *policy*.

They are not paid enough. So, Need to take long time off, trade on insider information, lie, cheat and get wealthy. That is why you run for Congress.

    4. The irony here is absolutely staggering. Kean literally won his seat in 2022 by weaponizing his opponent’s stock-trading violations and promising voters he would put his own millions into a blind trust. Not only did he never setup the trust, but now he’s pulled a literal vanishing act from Congress while his broker keeps working overtime. Hypocrisy at its absolute finest.

Is there any evidence this dude is actually alive? Other than his aides going “trust us, bro”

it is absolutely wild how these people can be completely awol for their actual taxpayer-funded job but still manage to perfectly time the stock market. we basically just elect corrupt hedge fund managers at this point.

Nothing stands in the way of conservatives doing crime and fucking over the human race, nothing.

He’s a Republican so he’s allowed to do anything as long as it doesn’t help any minorities or Democrats. MAGA is a cancer.

He gave his password to his domme. Financially humiliation kink. Very on brand for white conservative men.

Bro is “too sick to work” but well enough to be Ubering around San Francisco and day trading.

    11. demoralizingRooster on

Ahem, someone was trading stocks on his behalf. That’s different according to VJ.

    12. He’s a republican incumbent, so I’m assuming he’ll be re-elected. When it comes to swearing in and being seated, how awkward is that conversation going to be?

    13. *Here is his trading history since joining Congress through March. As pointed out by others, his campaign against his opponent railed against his stock trading. Typical MAGA hypocrite. Not that he is alone, it runs across parties and needs to be stopped.*

Grifters gonna grift even if they have to drag themselves off their death bed.

    15. Throw his ass in prison, divest all his stock, force him to repay his salary.

So nobody has seen this guy in public and nobody apparently knows where he is. But he is spending money and using his phone across the country? This is terrifying regardless of party affiliation. Why is the FBI not alerted and looking for this guy? Seems like hes kicked the bucket and somebody is using his identity or phone. Or he is having a mental health crisis, because this is far from normal behavior. Either way, considering his position and committees, he could be carrying access to or information in general that can be used against America. He needs to be secured.

    17. Historical_Bend_2629 on

I would be furious if I were his constituent. He isn’t representing them.

    18. Well according to the vice president, this is ok because he, personally, isnt the trading stocks. He is having his stockbrokers do it on his orders. So because he isnt literally doing it himself, it isnt illegal.

    19. We need to put the Reddit people-finding machine to work tracking down this mysterious man.

    20. SgtNeilDiamond on

There is no fucking good reason to let Congress trade stocks or anyone in publicly elected federal position.

If you joined Congress to make money then in no way should the public assume that you’ll ever have their best interest placed ahead of that.

Dont join politics if you want to be rich, fuck off with this shit. You’re OUR public servants bitch.

    21. hereditydrift on

The best thing to do is strip all politicians of any gains made from stock trading during their time as a representative. Dem, Rep, Independent… whatever.

    22. SlowDontRush on

I’m 100% convinced he’s dead and they’re pretending he’s still alive to keep a special election from happening

    23. Life-Quantity-637 on

Of course he did! They are playing Hungry Hungry Hippos with the market while the American people suffer.

    24. ZebraImaginary9412 on

If Congress and the President are going to trade, they need to share their trades within five business days not 45 days so regular people can get in on a good thing.

    25. Uncreative-Name on

Just the fact that he’s not around to vote actually makes him one of the best Republicans in Congress. Maybe even #1
