I think Labour can rule out an upset with the Cons and Ref splitting the vote. Fortunately not a close election.

From the article. So he only sees them as not being useful for his career rather than words he repudiates as he has learnt not to think like that.
I wonder what he will blame for losing.
MobyDobieIsDead on
When Farage wins can he say he’s won for every white person in the UK or that his favourite drink is black man tears or is that only reserved for people to be racist against white people?
Jedibeeftrix on
So, not every resident of Clacton – to act as their representative in Parliament…?
Not as attractive a proposition as he seems to think it is!

Are all the parties having a competition to see who can get away with the most?
This remark is just…. stupid. Does that mean, he’ll discriminate anyone who isn’t that? Because erm… if someone else did it with another thing, people would(rightfully) go apeshit.
Why not just say “I’m runing for every resident of Clacton and I hope to resolve any racial issues.”
Mr_XcX on
I think Labour have given up on this seat. The only expected winners are Farage or Giles getting an unexpected bounce in next two weeks.
Starmer saying if you want a clown go to clacton was also a sign IMO Labour had given up on their campaign and also felt it was a bit insulting to voters.

This is Jovan Owusu Nepaul, who answered a tweet saying his favourite drink is “white man’s tears”.
Obviously a very racist person, just like Diane Abbot. So because of that, we use the same rhetoric used against Reform. Labour is full of racists.

I thought politicians represented the area they get elected in……. Or are supposed to.
Should be treated the same way as anyone running who vowed to represent only the white people……… but he won’t be because he has a free pass it seems

I like his style. Nerd with a touch of trench coat mafia.
Labours rage bait candidate is going to terrify the hard working people of Clacton even more than Farage’s promise to let anyone without a job for four months starve to death. Whether or not the immigrants have taken all the jobs in 97% white British Clacton.

>”It became about the future of this country and who and who isn’t welcome here.”

Unless working class people in Clapton are somehow not white, I would hazard a guess this was intentionally taken out of context for the clickbait headline.

Clacton is 90%+ white. They’re not sending their best.

Tories will criticize this but as a young Bangladeshi girl growing up in Manchester, this would absolutely light up my day.

Labour, because the tories are so shit that it doesn’t matter what we do you will vote for us anyway.

Love all the people who are pretending to think he means he’s doing it ONLY for black and brown people just so that they can be outraged over it. White people are by far the majority race in the UK, you don’t need to do anything “for” us specifically, by and large we’re in a reasonably good position.

I will be voting Labour in my own constituency but Farage winning would be amusing
312F1-66 on
The constituency I believe includes one of the most deprived areas in the UK, Jaywick Sands, which is full of totally unsuitable housing which were originally built as small holiday chalets for Eastenders before people started using them as a permanent home to escape London.
The level of pensioners, unemployed and disabled people in Jaywick and Clacton itself is way above the national average, and in return for desperately needing help to raise pensions, benefits and create jobs this desperately poor area gets rewarded with over a decade of Tory government targeting the weakest in society it now gets this shyster Farage as the solution as their potential MP, a party who make the Tories look like Mary Poppins with their manifesto targeting those at the bottom of society rather than Farage’s cronies on the trading floor and in big business.
Farage does not give a hoot about the people of Clacton, he probably despises them, they are just pawns in his game of promoting Nigel Farage and God forbid if he were to win causing chaos in Parliament. He would have zero interest in any issues in his constituency.

Jesus it’s gross in here.
Here’s a lens to view this through- a black man defeats a man who made his career on racism and talking down to minorities. That would be a fuck you to Farage on the behalf of every person of colour who calls Britain home.

Alot of whataboutism and people just straight up defending a racist in these comments. Why can’t we all just accept that both Farage and Jovan Owusu-Nepaul are both racist bellends who are alienating sections of the population they are in competition to represent?

I for one think this idea of designating a specific seat for all the various flavours of racist to fight it out in is quite a good idea.
My suggestion to improve it next time is that we choose Anglesey and then simply demolish the Brittania and Menai bridges at 10 pm on election night.

Who is honestly surprised? People like this are the reason we are a shoe in to rerun the 1930s in the 2030s. Except it probably won’t be us who are. The “good guys” this time around.

Well it certainly wouldn’t be for the white people he’s racist against.
So he’s saying that in an area that’s 96% white
And his main opposition is a guy who runs a party of neo nazi white supermarcists
