As Brisbane rental prices hit record highs and vacancy rates remain at historic lows, advocates say some domestic violence victims are having to choose between staying in an unsafe home or facing homelessness.
According to data from Brisbane Zero, a collaborative partnership of organisations aimed at ending and preventing homelessness, at the end of March 2026 there were 315 individual women and 216 sole parenting women experiencing homelessness in Brisbane.

Well yeah, no shit. But the government doesn’t give a fuck about victims, and judging by his recent comments on women’s safety neither does our so called prime minister.
It’s a culture issue. There is no hope for women in Australia so long as the ‘not all men’ crowd have the loudest voice.
