      China supported North Vietnam, but relations between them were actually very hostile overall. Just a few years later, China invaded Vietnam in a short but extremely bloody war.       China also backed Pol Pot in Cambodia, who was eventually overthrown by the Vietnamese army in 1979.

      In contrast, the USSR had much friendlier relations with Ho Chi Minh.

      I like how North Vietnam is listed as “Military Support to North Vietnam” like they are supporting and not involved in the conflict.

      Alfredo Stroessner of Paraguay enthusiastically pleaded Nixon for him to allow Paraguayan troops to go fight in Vietnam, but was ‘graciously’ denied.

      I actually zoomed in expecting full Vietnam to be colored purple. Damn, missed a great joke there, OP.

      The worst thing vietnam did was invading Cambodia to maintain the Ho Chi Minh trail, they armed and trained the Khmer rouge and handed 1/3 of the country to them and soon as US forces withdrew they took over killing in just 3 years more than entire decades of Viwtnamese and Cambodian wars

      I am not really knowledgeable about Vietnam War, but what is really hilarious is that this map portrays North Vietnam as bad and South Vietnam as good:

      – Supporting North Vietnam? Red and yellow (danger colors).

      – Supporting South Vietnam? Green and blue (non-danger colors).

      Some will say that Red is due to Communism, but while it could have been the case, the other colors do not back up this statement and really go for “good vs bad” style — the military support for South Vietnam could have been blue (democracy and all that), but, no, it is green.

      As usual these maps are often BS. Mongolia supported North Vietnam by providing financial and food aid.
