Never should that have been send off, ESPECIALLY ORIGIN WTF. Ashley wanted to make it about himself, went completely against the bunker.

    2. This was beyond absurd. Why bother even playing with decisions like this? It isn’t a shoulder charge when the point of impact is the head. Yes he set up for a shoulder charge, but the head stopped it being that. 10 minutes was the right call. Send off, just absurd. Whole team should have walked. The game was decided by a mediocre ref. At that point why bother even playing?

      Nah, one eyed red neck.
A send off every day of the week in this modern era.

    4. No-ones blaming Ponga for tackling with his head? He had time to tackle safely, he could have fronted up chest on and tackled properly. In the modern game that’s a send off whether you like it or not, considering Suaali a few years ago got pegged for nailing a falling Reece Walsh.

Some blame has to go to Ponga here, like it or not.

    5. for those who didn’t catch the game or know much of state of origin, can we have some context

only saw a bit of the game at work since i’m in a sports bar, but have never played or know much of either AFL or NFL

much appreciated if someone could shine some light on what happened and why it’s bad

    6. Ohh the fucking irony – Ponga spent half a season unconscious a few years back after getting his bell rung week in week out. LOL have a sook cunts, it was no attempt to wrap and direct contact to the head. I’m sure he didn’t mean it, I’m sure he’s a lovely fella, but he just hit the head and it was a failed HIA. So suck it up cane toads.

      VLandys is ruining the game.

This fkr is a sell out. Sells out to gambling companies. They’re behind this fiasco. Klein is a spineless puppet. Overruled the bunker to please Daddy VLandys.

Game three Klein and VLandys better be choppered in and out of Suncorp. The crowd will and should bring the fury.

I think we just need to stop watching the NRL. Then maybe they might listen? Week in week out all anyone does is talk about the refs instead of the game. You’d think they would have listened by now? I’m so fucking over watching fuckwit Klein ruin games. The game isn’t the same anymore. Sent off for a head clash in ORIGIN. I’m done.

Klein overruled the Bunker in the heat of the moment. He lost his objectivity.

Disgraceful call. Its a sin bin 10/10 times. Its never a send off.

Handed NSW the game, he better not get game 2.

So the on-field ref can overrule the bunker’s decision any time!? Sets a strong precedent if so.

Everyday they refer to the bunker, on this occasion he made a decision and we have all had doubts to be un bias. Bunker informed him and he made his own decision, so moving forward if he officiates the next encounter then it appears the NRL are controlling what the want. Won’t bother me anymore as of tonight I will never watch another NRL game again or origin. This has been happening for years and unfortunately QLD we adapt and overcome. NRL can’t accept that we are by far the superior state. Enjoy NRL if you choose. We are a happy team at HAWTHORN we are the mighty fighting HAWKS. THANK YOU AND GOODBYE NRL

The angle not shown on screen was off a shoulder charge with direct contact to the head, no attempt to wrap and led to a category 2 HIA assessment and the player who was tackled not being allowed to enter the field again, absolutely no room in today’s game for a tackle like this and if there was any head contact it’s a 90-10 split between shoulder and head.
