Curious what people honestly think about this year’s Šaltibarščiai Festival. Was it organised well? How did you find the new location compared to previous years? Interested to hear both the good and the bad

    1. There were too many people so we with 4 children couldn’t get through and lines were insanely long.

I live city center, i did not go. It’s an artifical culture animation. Like dancing with a corpse. (Read it in Slavoj Zizeks voice)

Overhyped event, many flaws to be fixed in the upcoming years. Was happy to see many European tourists in pink, but shocked by the amount of 3rd world immigrants with families and babies here already.

waste of time, too many people, too little activities, most are for kids.

I think some people say its good some say its bad, me i dont know

    6. Honestly, I was quite disappointed. Imo it was just stands of companies advertising through organising games for kids you need to wait 30 mins to play due to the masses of ppl. Same for grabbing food and sth to drink.
Given that, there was, besides the giant slide, nothing really interesting to do. Seemed like a big unuseful advertisement event.
Was my first time actually. I really like the idea of celebrating a Šaltibarščiai festival. But I was quite disappointed by the festival area itself

Best side was actually some people dressing up like it was carnival and the restaurants offering quite some interesting and creative dishes

    7. I was excited, but I’m dissapointed to say it was chaotic and not very well organized, pretty much all I could see were lines of people waiting for overpriced šaltibarščiai, it was hard to follow what was happening where, and it was sooo hard to walk through that one food court alley, it was so tight to get through because of the waiting lines. And personally it all feels a bit bad, like we sold out and capitalized cheaply on our culture or smth

Last year the festival was in a better location by Tymo turgus and the whole area had a different vibe, less commercialized than this year, more area for the slide and poeple to enjoy the view of others going down. I was really disappointed this year, felt like everything was done just to get some cash. It was great to see a lot of tourists from other countries in my favourite spots around town dressed in pink, but I’m disappointed that the event was so cringe in comparison with last year.
