This happened apparently near Balalan/Platanissos; the video was sent to a Giynik newspaper.

    What do you think:

Is an organised drone war against polluters possible? All you need is a couple of drones, a team that places them in the nature and collects them from time to time to recharge batteries (or even a solar-powered base stations?). Some more advanced drones circulating high over the skies or some cameras placed up high up in the mountains to detect possible events. If they detect unusual movements, smaller drones could be activated to check. They could be navigated from a central command room or even fly autonomously.

You don’t even need to catch too many polluters, it would already help to instil fear among the target group that they could be caught at any place in the middle of the nature.

What did they do with the guy in the video? Did they arrest him? Did they find him, or is he still on the run?

Revolutionary. Can you zoom on the license plates.
Send it to the police and to many news outlets

Why do they even do it? They can throw all that stuff at green dot facilities for free

You could. But that way lies mass surveillance. Why not catch people speeding too? Or on their mobile and driving?

There is an X prize to use drones to catch wild fires.

To solve this pollution issue you need to solve the whole chain, so regulate who can do disposal and then make it an expensive fine to use an unlicensed disposal service.

    5. this is insane, I knew of people doing this for decades now… Why not just pull up to a warehouse dumpster at like 1am. I don’t get it

This is awesome. To combat this, Government should have a special department equipped with drones and AI software.

It was a horrendous problem when I hiked across Troodos. Even saw fly-tipped dead goats.
