The amount of CA Governors on the ballot was stupid. Regardless, I voted and so should everyone else. Have a great day watching the results all!
Isn’t it better to just back the independent in the Montana senate race?
Tonight gonna be wild, fingers crossed for good results
I hadn’t realized just how many people were running for governor until I hit the show all button.
Longest ballot I’ve ever filled out.
> The California gubernatorial primary is a so-called “jungle” primary, meaning that all candidates, from any party, run against one another in a single election. If one candidate receives more than fifty per cent of the vote, they immediately win the election. Otherwise, the two candidates who receive the most votes face each other in the general election in November.
So if I’m reading that right, if someone gets a majority of the vote now, they immediately win the governor race outright? Interesting.
Would they be sworn in the same time as if they won in November or would they get sworn in earlier?
Last I read early voter independents are breaking pretty hard toward democrats in New Mexico and local news is saying they’re expecting big turnouts for Democrats so it *might* be a landslide.
The California polls only reflect leading candidates that are still running. Eric Swalwell and Betty Yee are still on the ballot despite suspending their campaigns, for example. Nothing prevents people from voting for them anyway. I’m sure a lot of people decide who to vote for based on who’s leading in the polls (because who wants to pick a loser, right?), but I’m not sure how reliable they really are. Just vote for the candidate you like the most.
When will Results for New Jersey, Iowa and California will start coming in?
