Widely agreed by who? No one think Filippinos and Burmese are remotely similar. Japanese and Mongolians are not remotely similar. And so on.

Bullshit, 45% of Europe (which is in Russia) is certainly not a part of Asia.

Kaliningrad/former Koenigsberg and Adrianopolis/Edirne — Asia? What have you been smoking?

On the other hand, unquestionably Asian Cyprus is not included. Totall moronic nonsense.

If you think about it it’s really amazing how culturally diverse Asia is

    4. Afghanistan shouldn’t be considered South Asia and Burma definitely isn’t Southeast Asia

Mongolia in east asia feels very wrong for some reason. I’d consider them central as well as xinjiang and tibet if the han weren’t there

      Geopolitically, yes.

Culturally, Afghanistan is closer to Central Asia and Iran. Pakistan is more of a cultural border area between south, central and west due to its mixture of ethnicities and environments.

The other countries are harder to argue for being in different regions based purely on culture. Vietnam has a lot in common with China, but not to the degree that it’s more East Asian than Southeast Asian. The Philippines is very different from e.g. Thailand, but is closer to other Southeast Asian countries culturally than to East Asian countries. Mongolia might be deemed more similar to Central Asian or North Asian cultures, but has a lot of historical cultural connection with China. Iran has always been more west-facing in its culture and politics.

Are we not gonna talk about this large, perfectly circular island south of India?

I wouldn’t consider, culturally, the Indonesian province of irian java as part of SE Asia.
