The total amount exceeds 60 million Won depending on where you are living. These additional payouts include regional/municipal financial support + free after-school, late night support and tutoring programs + subsidized public housing support + special pre-authorized loans for newlyweds and couples with a newborn.
Given that a wave of new infrastructure for late-night school care programs (방과후 아이 돌봄) and post-partum care facilities are starting to come online this year, I am expecting to hear more of "요즘엔 한국에서 애 낳으면 정부가 다 해주더라" soon.

I have a friend who just benefited from the increased support offered under item no.7 (emergency birth situations). Really glad the government stepped up big time there.
Better late than never.
Meanwhile the existing demographic gap of about 20 years should be filled with migrant workers with a careful consideration of physical AI reducing manufacturing worker demands permanently.
Honestly this is the kind of info the 정부 should be spamming on every app and subway screen, because most people have no idea this stuff even exists. But tbh 60 million over years still feels tiny compared to housing, 사교육, 경단녀 리스크, 노후 worries etc. Policy is definitely moving in the right direction, but they gotta fix 구조적인 불안 too or people are still gonna be like “애는 무슨…”
