**Lee discusses ‘incomprehensible loophole’**
President Lee Jae Myung expressed “deep regret that an incomprehensible loophole occurred” in the election management progress following the shortage of ballot papers in some constituencies for the June 3 local elections.
“I hear that residents in some areas of Seoul experienced great confusion and inconvenience yesterday due to the shortage of ballot papers,” Lee said during a meeting of senior presidential aides at the Blue House, stressing that all agencies “have a duty to make full preparations to ensure there are no gaps whatsoever in the process of exercising the people’s sacred right to vote.”
**NEC to establish fact-finding committee**
The National Election Commission announced that it would establish a ballot shortage fact-finding committee comprised of outside experts to uncover the reasons for the ballot shortage.
