Astronomer here! I was quoted in this article regarding the new change in funding rules. TL;DR- they would allow grants to be canceled at any time for any reason by government officials with no science background, and hurt American science. Heck the international collaboration rules are so strict there’s concern wouldn’t be allowed any more.

I’m concerned that this administration is going to delay us scientifically for years and I don’t like the idea of other countries being ahead of us in anything.
We need rules that let us claw back the paychecks and office of overreaching rabid politicians !
