Seeing the Mail and Telegraph turn on the Frankenstein’s monster they helped create is both delicious and frightening, since I expect the Mail and Telegraph to lose.
Our media landscape is too high on its own smoke to realise that Trump, Farage etc. have discovered that any publicity is good publicity. They are an out of control wildfire and publicity is their oxygen. And eventually they will consume the very source that helped fan the original flames.

He’s not wrong to say that NATO expansion gives Putin an excuse to invade Ukraine and blame it on NATO, because it does.

Ukraine could easily win if we were brave enough to support them properly while making it very clear that we are no way interested in the collapse of the Russian state once they’ve been kicked out.

It’s concerning how many have fallen for the Putin narrative.
The covert 2014 invasion was almost entirely about Russian domestic politics. Prominent nationalists within Russia at the time were calling on Putin to use the opportunity given by an ongoing Ukraine revolution, to fake an insurgence of the Russian speaking population in the East. Putin pandered and thought he could use it bluster his own power by insighting Russian nationalism domestically.
Only then did Ukraine and NATO became a threat to Russias interests, as Ukraine armed up and sought to join NATO while continually shelling the Donbas for 8 years.
The cause of this war has little to do with Putin fear of NATO.

In March 2022, at the Istanbul Peace Summit, both Ukrainian & Russian negotiators initialled a peace proposal, terms some territory swap Ukraine could join the EU but would not join NATO.
Biden sent Boris Johnson to tell Zelensky not to sign & the west would back him & give him everything he needed in a war against Russia.

I repeat the fact that the head of the Ukrainian parliament delegation has confirmed this.
