      If there hadn’t been any perfect phone call regarding the red card this loss, while dissapointing, would have been ordinary.

      Even if the phone call, and that’s a big if, ultimately didn’t affect the outcome of the red card decision, the mere appearance sullied the reputation for the entire USMNT.

      Suddenly the USMNT went from a sympathetic team to a tainted one.
