      Too hard to work out what’s cold and what’s moderate temps with the amounts of blue in there.

      Also what’s blowing them, is the direction relevant? Is the height of the things relevant?

      This is a visualization of ERA5 output over Europe for June 2026.

      What’s visualized are the wind patterns at 500hpa pressure levels along with the 2 meter air temperature. You can see around June 18th the start of some anticyclonic behavior in southern France, on June 23rd a prominent anticuclone forms over western France and then you can see it migrate East over the next 7 days.

      This method uses the new hair dynamics node brought into 5.2

      My European friend always continues to bitch about the heat during. He has a newer house that was built to allow a future AC installation. He makes a shit ton of money too.

      Never does he buy a damn AC unit though. It’s the same cycle every year. May-September bitches, October-April brags about “saving money” on his electric bill.

      European people are built different with weather.

      The change between blue and orange is way too sudden. Makes one think that blue is cold when in fact it’s already in the 20c range.

      This was really mesmerizing to watch after a while, the sort of “pulsating” heat throughout the day.

      Also interesting to see how it stayed warmer throughout the night as the heatwave dragged on, that’s always the worst part of a hot day, when it doesn’t cool down enough at night to even get a good night’s sleep. Really feels like getting kicked while you’re down.
