A political science paper has emerged comparing the political career of U.S. President Donald Trump to the narrative of Japan’s iconic monster, Godzilla. The study highlights parallels: both were summoned by human errors, wreak havoc indiscriminately, and return even after being seemingly defeated.

    1. Godzilla has been known to fight off worse monsters. We’re still waiting on that.

    2. Trump isn’t the result of human error, he’s the intended result of deliberate action by Americans. That’s what voting IS.

    3. The constant relation of real world issues to pop culture is why nobody in America takes American politics seriously, which is how we get elected officials like our current POTUS

    4. Also, the U.S. began atomic tests in the Pacific in 1946, the same year Donald Trump was born.

    5. As a lifelong Godzilla fan, I’m frankly deeply insulted.  Godzilla is a dynamic character, at times a force of nature, at times a hero of Earth , a champion against pollution and climate disaster, a protector of humanity from the people of seatopia, and only once straight up evil (but even then it’s only because he was the souls of those hurt by imperial Japan).

    6. Man that’s cold Godzilla didn’t have a choice, he was born into that life, and he still fights heroically when he needs to.
I can’t believe anyone would compare Godzilla to a monster like that.

Godzilla would suck if he whined all the time and accused humans of having Godzilla Derangement Syndrome.

Godzilla teamed up with Mothra and Rodan to save Earth from King Ghidorah more than once. Trump sides with Ghidorah and then tries to sell you commemorative coins of the battle.

    9. Now this is going to make for an amazing “the left completely lost it” commentary video on youtube that i am going to skip.

    10. I hate the orange oaf as much as anyone but this isn’t an actual scientific study, its satire (and not particularly interesting satire either IMO). This belongs in a politics sub, not a science sub.

Except the power that made this evil return is uneducated right wing retirees

    12. There’s only one time I want to see Trump and Godzilla spoken in the same sentence.

And I think we can all guess what that is.
