I have a co-worker that uses AI for every aspect of his job without putting the output into his own words, even. I can’t do shit about it because our entire management chain is in love with AI and is pushing staff to use it. My manager sits in her office creating agents to guide our project management.

I dream of the day that the usage bill gets too high and limits are put in place.

Microsoft required their employees work with AI. Doesn’t this mean their employee worked a lot?

    3. From what I’m seeing about how hard AI is being shoved down throats I can only assume they expected at least triple that usage in the same time frame.

Amature, we had someone spend over twice that, and majority of rhat usage was over 2 days. It was quickly followed by a daily limit.

I work there and my coworker is already at $38k for the month. It’s different allowances by team. Different models are available too. Our team has Mythos, most others I talk to do not. For me I’ve been impressed with Sol. I was using Opus previously, and Opus still seems better. But Sol is significantly cheaper and the latest version is comparable to the coding capability we had with Opus 4.6

My company has mandated that ensure I’m getting the most out of my CoPilot Premium sub, I should create 20 prompts per month. 1 per day.

I left Microsoft 5 months ago partially because of AI shaming. Like if you don’t use AI so much that it’s comical, you are a loser. Good to see it’s backfiring 😀

    8. Take this with a huge grain of salt. Their “source” is self-reported data from Blind. While Blind does verify that you’re an employee before giving you access to the message boards for that employer, they don’t keep track of when you’ve left. The spreadsheet in question happens every year at Microsoft rewards time, and is both entirely voluntarily and entirely unverified. Anybody with a link to the spreadsheet can input whatever data they like.

Does that mean that an employee *didn’t* use $28k of tokens in a month? I dunno. But more importantly, neither does the author of this article, and Microsoft will never confirm nor deny anything like that so unless said employee can produce receipts, we’ll never actually know.

    9. Good, fast, cheap. **Choose two**.

(And, I mean, you’re never going to get *good* with most AI. So uh… yeah, this whole thing sucks.)

    10. This is easy. If you have a large repo its quick. We had a guy run up $150k in costs during a monthly trial of one of the AI products.
We didnt pay anything but would have paid it if we had bought it.

Meanwhile my company rate limit is to 100 dollars worth of AI credit per month. Begging for cap increases requires an IT ticket and manger approval.
Puts on OAI and A/. Their revenue isn’t even sustainable let alone road to profitability. Also when companies are seeing those bills, switching to low cost open weight model is more and more likely. Even on prem deployment for safety.
