“I wonder where that came from?” – they said sarcastically.

Supposedly a NATO F-16 shot down a drone around Kaunas that entered from Belarus, hard to find more definitive information or confirm this.

Russia has been waging war on Europe.

Weren’t Belarus specifically warned that they would get fucked into the ground if they ever did shit like this? I say we respond with a whole barrage of our own. We should send a barrage of strongly worded letters taped to the back of cruise missiles. If the Belarusians want to play, I say we let them play.

If it is possible to determine exactly from where the drone was launched, that place becomes a legitimate military target within reason. A Tomahawk leveling the launch site would be an appropriate way to deliver the Harsh letter message.
Might as well get on with it, because this won’t deescalate before an adequate and proportional response is delivered.

I wish we could send some too

How long will we let them test our limits? Hybrid spies, arson, drones, funding puppets and yet, nothing. A lukewarm response and I’d even say inaction that shows we will simply let it happen, one cannot allow open aggression to go unpunished

is it safe to go out now?

Putin wants Russians to see the upcoming mobilisation as an existential necessity against NATO and wants to provoke a response it can use as justification. We need to respond to these provocations by doubling down on our suppoemrt for Ukraine without entering the war ourselves.
