Of course, an initiative aimed at stripping Switzerland of its sanctioning authority would be overwhelmingly rejected. Why would they tie themselves to UN resolutions? That would mean sacrificing a portion of their sovereignty.
Neutrality has to serve Switzerland’s interests. Potentially exposing us to secondary sanctions and further damaging our relations with the EU just so that Blocher and his awful daughter can continue making money in Russia is not in our national interest.
