      Tbh, nobody in the article is up in arms about it and they all seem to take it well. Gen Z’s gonna be fine.

      Zijn de tijden zo veranderd? Wij deden dat altijd eind augustus of begin september.

      Het verhuizen bedoel ik, de dag voor het academiejaar ga je meestal toch met de trein en wandel je door de Maria-Theresiastraat met die veel te luide koffer op wieltjes…

      Ben ook effectief gaan fietsen in het centrum en rond 16 uur hoorde ik effectief een galm van “klak-klak-klak”

      Doesn’t this happen almost every year? Carfree Sunday is always the third Sunday, moving day tends to be the third or fourth Sunday depending on the third Monday of the month.

      Amai, het academiejaar was nog niet eens begonnen en ze vertoonden al uitstelgedrag.

      Die autoloze zondagen worden in het lang en het breed aangekondigd in regionaal nieuws en staan in de navigatie-apps.

      Dit heeft weinig te maken met Gen Z lijkt me, ik ken ook veel ouders die hier wel wat bedenkingen bij hebben (en het blijft ook bij bedenkingen, net zoals in het artikel).

      Overigens plaatst Gent gewoon de autovrije zondag twee weken vroeger, om maar te zeggen dat er een simpele ‘oplossing’ is.

      Let’s be real here. It’s one of those things where in the moment you say the quote of the article “couldn’t the city have chosen a different day?”, but after half a day or the next day you move on with life.

      Life truly is too short to make this the hill to die on (and not saying anyone is doing that).
