US bases in the middle east rather aggravated and worsened the war situation rather than protecting those countries. For US, war is nothing more than a business especially.

    1. Right now? It’s a liability!

If you haven’t noticed, we currently have an orange imbecile in office, who thinks everything can be used as a negotiation tactic.

    2. It isnt changing shit, besides stroking certain political figure’s ego. US and Russia are in cahoots, so we just gonna pay for the base, and the troops are gonna be immediately pulled out back into the far fuckaway land the moment daddy putin decides to do anything funny here.

We getting blown up to bits in a ditch by drone with this one boys

    3. It does neither. The concept is that the Russians will not attack us, because there are US troops here. The reality is, they are sticking to their base, and it’s extremely easy to just not attack it. These are not troops that are prepared to join in with defense, like those stationed in West Germany were. They could, but only after NATO would decide what to do. So it is mostly posturing, until we are sure that US will back us up. Which 25 years ago was a given, but nowadays…

Idk man i love shitting on the US and its government, but US troops are so so much better than russian. War is objectively “just a business” for governments.

The whole point for Poland is the econonic benefit of the US funneling a part of its massive budget into Poland, deterrence, and collaboration/training. Everything else is and should be the Polish military’s responsibility in Poland.

Even if Trump and Putin are buddy buddy, they still will do everything they can to avoid killing eachothers soldiers in direct confrontation. And id much rather American than Russian. Polish history should remember that.

    5. Not only Americans recently shown that it doesn’t guarantee any protection, contrary they can make you
an actual target. And why on earth would you host an army of a country which is openly hostile?

    6. These troops aren’t meant to specifically fight – they’re more so a ,,legal obstacle” in case Russia attacked, as if it had done so, it would have also automatically attacked the USA. It’s moreso a sign to the East of ,,Hey, world’s strongest army is here, don’t do anything stupid, Putin”.

It’s something that we rely on for our protection, for better or worse. Sure, maybe Americans have a bit of a weirdo as their president the moment, but Russians next door have a g-nocidal dictator as theirs, waging hybrid war against us and claiming Poland to be his mortal enemy.

The real important question is: What does the US know that we don’t which makes it a priority to establish a permanent presence in Poland 🙂 We will learn the truth from declassified CIA documents in 50 to 70 years.

    8. Any foreign base raises suspicion. What if one day they turn against us? Especially with such batshit insane government

    9. First thing that gets NUKED is that base, if NATO attacks Russia.

No matter how many troops there will be, its not going to help you.

Iran proves my point, they destroyed all the USA bases in the region.

Its going to be much worse with Russia if this happens.

    10. Neither big enough to greatly support defence, neither as excuse for enemy assault.
Side comment: US government now greatly reduced amount of troops in Spain, Italy and Germany, but that won’t work to rise numbers of American troops in Poland.

American patrols will be walking everywhere, and this will save Ukrainians from attacks by aggressive Poles.
