    1. Everything about it is so incredibly stupid. It’s not as good of a product, it has to travel from the other side of the world, it is being bought by a vassal state of Russia. This is just so pathetic. Canada will sell it’s potash regardless, but this just makes it even more crucial that we do massive expansion to ports like now.

    2. Poor Moe fell for it, blew his wad and reacted to the Orange Pedo’s bait. The news just released: “Belarus’s authoritarian leader Alexander Lukashenko said Monday that there are no available volumes of fertilizer to send to the U.S.”

Moe needs to pace himself. In my own news, how in the hell were they going to ship volumes from Belarus to the US? Trump’s Amazon Prime account courtesy his buddy Jeff Bezos?

    3. Close the Can-Am highway. Close the border crossings. Build a wall all the way down the 49th parallel. Pay me $25 an hour to guard it and give me a horse. No Americans call me up and have anything nice to say. NOT ONE. Two years of threats of attack and dealing with our own people locked up in ICE facilities.

    4. That GIF of Patrick saying “It may be stupid, but it’s also dumb” would be a perfect fit here

    5. It’s a good thing that Moe spent all that tax payer money to go to Lindasy Graham’s funeral to “network” with MAGA and the Republicans. It really paid off, didn’t it?

    6. Why is so much attention being put on to this?

Days ago, Trump was saying his triumphal arch would double as a military complex.

    7. Belarus has already stated they don’t have the potash. This was someone whispering in Donny’s ear and he made a post about it. The states cannot get potash from Belarus. Simple and clear. Between the fact the Belarus president says they don’t have it, the cost to ship it from Belarus and finally that it’s a sanctioned product by the EU means it would have to transported from Belarus across Russia and shipped from Russia to the states. That presents a logistical nightmare on top of the moral issues. It won’t be cheaper or easier or timely even if they had it to sell. I know they have it in the ground but their production has been slowed or stopped because of sanctions.

    8. This is talk but very unlikely to amount to anything.

The President of Belarus has stated they have no extra potash to sell.

Certainly it is plausible that Trump is really intent on purchasing russian potash transhipped but there are so many barriers to this that on a practical basis it is a no go in any meaningful quantity. russia does not produce enough potash to meaningfully impact US needs and if they tried then russia would starve. But there are many other barriers beyond this.

Its a classic trumpian announcement – all bark and not a grain of truth to it.

Canada produces 15 million metric ton of potash.

Russia produces 10 million metric ton.

      China 6.3 million metric ton.

Belarus 3 to 12 million metric ton.

The Us Purchases roughly 53% of Canadian potash exports, supplying over 80% of American farm fertilizer needs.

Trump isnt going to be able to get any sort of meaningful potassium supply from Belarus, so its sort of a moot point. It is funny that Moe is suddenly concerned about Trumps economic attacks on Canada the second it might impact him personally, but that is just about the most conservative way to act I can imagine.

Please tell me that we’re not in an economic war with Trump right now. Buckle up, help your neighbours and fight for this country!

    13. When your enemy is making a mistake never correct them. Let them buy all the pretend potash from neverland they want to, we need to focus on finding other markets for our fantastic products.
Let them be as dumb as they can be

    14. we sell potash under market price, yet somehow Belarus is going to undercut us without major transport hub to America.

This guy really is good at uniting Canadians, ndp and Saskparty have the same stance on something lmao

Every week Trump comes out with a new plan to wipe out Canada from US imports. He’s like the ex-boyfriend that keeps texting his ex that is now married about how good he has it now.

Look, made dinner. Could have made it for you but we’re not together.

Look started working out, could have seen my gains.

Belarus has already stated they have all of 2026 potash spoken for… so this won’t even be a problem. The next issue is getting it from Belarus to the US via a big enough cargo ship and then building a port that can handle the intake so it can be distributed by rail. Good luck doing that in 3 months.

    17. I do find this whole story pretty funny as it seems like its the US administrations attempt to counter the positive moves taken by Canada this past week. Canada builds inroads with Europe. Well Trump will negotiate a deal for one of Canada’s key resources.

But Carney is building a long term alliance. Trump is trying to swing some deal that everyone knows is non viable and is being played by Putin and allies in a moment of desperation.

Honestly, this is an encouraging development. If this is meant to signal the ability of the US to exert pressure on Canada, then we don’t have a lot to worry about any time soon.

This is why the US lifted sanctions on their potash in exchange for the release of a few prisoners.

    19. If the US can persuade Belarus to short China’s potassium orders in order to fill US demand then it would appear the Americans could kill two birds with one stone. A chance to screw with China and a snub to show Canada that they aren’t the only game in town. That could make it particularly attractive enough to the Americans for them on the political side and enough to justify the extra cost

    20. Premier Mo needs to stop reacting to dog whistles. Which, given that Belarus has no potash to sell to the US, is precisely what Mr. Trump’s post is.

    21. There’s absolutely no shot that the shipping costs will be less than what it costs to buy from Canada. Belarus/Russia would be eating the cost to cozy up to Trump. He’ll be a lame duck in a few months so who cares what he says now.

    22. I’ve never seen him say anything that decisive that quickly before. We found the one thing that touches Moe’s nerve lol

    23. Not that surprising. Most people don’t seem to realize that the US already buys a small amount of potash from Russia, so this is likely just a scale-up operation. Belarus doesn’t have enough potash to sell in the first place, so it’s more likely to be Russian potash labeled as Belarusian potash.

It’s obviously not going to be cheaper for the US. But likewise, it’s not easy to export Canadian potash anywhere else either, for the same reasons.

Americans are now going to buy potash from Belarus via Russia. 77 Million voted for this. How the F do they sleep at night?
