Thousands of ICE detainees’ whereabouts have been scrubbed from an online federal database after the agency instituted an unannounced change to its deportation process.
ICE quietly removed detainees who were subject to final deportation orders from its online detainee locator system last week, three current and former ICE officials told the Associated Press.
The move has made it increasingly difficult for these detainees, who had received final orders of removal from an immigration court, to be traced or contacted by attorneys or family members.

these detainees have final orders of deportation meaning their case for immigration or asylum has been denied and their next stop is somewhere outside the usa. many still have some legal avenues they could pursue to win asylum or visa, etc. that means their families, advocates, and lawyers need to know where they are to file the paperwork. that’s probably why the list came down. you can’t stop the deportation if the lawyers can’t find the detainee in time. the taking down of the list is most likely to impede appeals to final orders of deportation..

Americans didn’t care when they were locking human up like worthless animals. Americans didn’t care when they began raping the women and children they detained. Americans didn’t care when they began executing other Americans on the streets. Why would they care that records of people they don’t know or care about are erased along with the people? The private police is still kicking it with the most minimal pushback. Summer 2020 had more movement across the US and I do not believe Americans will ever do something of that scale again for anyone or anything unless it’s to pat themselves on the back to feel accomplished
