This behaviour is antithetical to Canadian norms, but developing a tighter relationship with the Euros requires Canada to be circumspect in criticism of individual EU members/candidates. The Euros are perfectly capable of taking their neighbours to task. Canada’s scope is shared economics and foreign policy, IMO, not internal EU governance or social policy.

    2. Our country only values potential profits now. Time to stop pretending Canada is a bastion of progressive social values. All that matters is the bank accounts of donors to the Liberal and Conservative parties. Expect more and more situations where we compromise our values to ensure profits. And I highly suspect we will never examine our own crimes against First Nations sovereignty while seeking economic expansion.

    3. Yeah, well, Carney is just Harper 2.0. This is inline with his style of governing too. Stagnate LGBTQ progress and make money for his corporate friends with increased free trade. Wonder where all the Carney defenders are in these threads.

I was told Carney is better than a conservative because of his progressive social leanings. I think I was also told that his nonbinary child assigned female at birth attending an elite university like Harvard was practically a guarantee that Carney would stand up for LGBTQ rights.

You don’t mean to tell me that was a lie all along? Oh jeez. If only I could’ve seen that coming.
